Brand Development & Website Design

Remote Lands is a leader in Ultra Lux travel to Asia. Over the years, the brand had tired, becoming inconsistent, and no longer reflected the market-leading status of its services and products. The brand needed to refresh and rethink its market positioning and communication to stay at the forefront of luxury travel to Asia.

Insight

Research showed that clients valued most the experience of ‘connection’ with the destination and its people. Amongst the super wealthy, unique personal experiences worldwide have taken centre stage from material purchases. Often seen as transformational and spiritual, unmatched by other providers, Remote Lands experiences offer a genuine point of difference from the competition, giving ultra-high net worths unashamed bragging rights .

The Spark

Remote Lands is a remarkable business for remarkable people seeking exceptional experiences. ‘Seek the remarkable’ was developed as a brand line to position the business. The whole brand aesthetic was reworked, from the logo to the website, and social media presence, in tune with luxury brand behaviour and connect with client value expectations.

Logo Development

The incumbent logo was streamlined to provide a sense of modernity and a gold foil effect variant was created to express a sense of deeper value, self-worth, and a tactility of material simplicity in line with the behaviour of luxury.

Brand Guidelines

With a variety of agencies and staff working, with varying skill levels, on marketing and brand communications, across channels, it was important to capture and explain the micro detail found in the new brand aesthetic. The level of guidance provided allows a consistent application of the brand and shows the attention to detail that you expect of a high-end luxury brand. Something that could be seen as restrictive has created protective behaviour that is amplifying trust in the business, its products, and services.

Website Redesign

We completely overhauled the website design and experience, creating a destination for clients to explore and seek the remarkable amongst the vast Remote Lands knowledge base. The designs focus was to keep things as minimal as possible, allow the brand to breath, whilst facilitating the array of content types, stories, and itineraries that were available.

Clean and clear typography and a generous use of space and colour was employed to reflect the hi end nature of the experience and allow content to sing. Photography plays a huge role in communicating the experiences on the ground and this was given prominence on page. Photography in particular for Remote Lands communicates their differentiation from the mainstream, as the business is in the unique position of having originated most of its own via the keen photographic eye of its staff and founders on the ground.
